I recently came across an article online titled Marry-go-round: Used wedding gowns find big reception online http://theedge.bostonherald.com/musicNews/view.bg?articleid=92606
I love the vintage look when it comes to fashion, but when I was planning my wedding I never even thought about buying a used gown. I suppose you need "Something Old" so why not let it be your wedding gown? I suppose if I had to do it all over again I might consider it.
Buying used or from an overstock-type online store can save you a ton of money that maybe you could put toward the reception or a more lavish honeymoon. According to the article a growing number of brides are buying "gently used" gowns these days. My question to you is... Would you buy a used gown? My grandmother always said to never wear anything on your wedding day that was once worn by a bride who didn't end up having a happy marriage because it was considered bad luck. I guess people were a lot more superstitious back in my grandmother's day than they are today. Maybe people aren't superstitious at all these days -- who knows?
So in addition to the question... Would you buy a used wedding gown, would you be too superstitious to wear something that an unhappy and/or divorced bride once wore?
Can't wait to hear your thoughts. - Cathy
